Thread messages may be displayed in one of 3 views:
- flat - messages are displayed without indentation. This is the best view for printing.
- threaded - messages are displayed with indentation indicating the "reply to" thread that the message is a response to. This is the best view for general use
- tree view - the message summaries are displayed in a threaded tree. The current item (only) is displayed above the tree view, and the current item is marked as "bold" in the tree view. This view makes it easy to see what has changed but is slower to navigate for longer threads because you need to open every message separately. It is also less useful, because most developers do not differentiate their postings with a unique summary.
The forum settings are configured in the User Preferences (Control Panel) section "Your Forum Settings".
