University support  

Free support for universities

The Symbian Academy university support package is designed to make it easy for universities and similar non-commercial institutions to create courses that teach Symbian software development, or to integrate a Symbian component into existing computer science courses. If you choose to affiliate your course with Symbian Academy you will receive free course materials, free training, free technical support, free development literature, free expert Symbian lecturers, and free exposure to Symbian’s industry partners.

Technical support

Each course will receive technical support from the Symbian Help Desk

Technical training

Each course leader will receive free entry to Symbian Application Engines and Essentials courses. These are courses that Symbian and its training partners run on a commercial basis for professional developers.

Course materials

Symbian will provide course materials covering the fundamental aspects of Symbian C++ application development.

Literature

Each course leader will receive sample copies of relevant Symbian Press books, plus as many free copies of "Symbian OS Essentials" booklets as he or she requires.

Access to industry

Each course will have the opportunity to expose its students and research to Symbian's industry partners

Expert lecturers

Each course will have the opportunity to request specialist lecturers from within Symbian

Quarterly newsletter

Every three months Symbian will issue a newsletter containing information on new technology and academic initiatives

Free development tools

Free development tools are available from Symbian and mobile phone manufacturers
