Accredited S60 Developer

Accredited Symbian Developer (ASD) is extended by Nokia's Accredited S60 Developer (AS60D) scheme, which is designed to set and objectively measure the standard of engineering competency required for developers and engineers to differentiate themselves as skilled S60 developers. The two exams complement one another, the ASD qualification assesses a developer's understanding of the Fundamentals of Symbian C++, and is pre-requisite of AS60D, with the latter exam assessing a developer's comprehension of user interface development, specifically for S60.

AS60D defines the set of knowledge required to understand and use S60. It provides a framework for continuing professional development keeping pace with the evolution of S60. The AS60D exam establishes whether a candidate has sufficient knowledge of S60 to contribute quickly to a project; it assumes prior knowledge of Symbian C++. The required scope of knowledge and the competency level for accreditation are defined by Nokia. The curriculum for the exam is described here.
