Flash technology was initially used on the PC to create animation and interactivity for web pages and to integrate video. It features support for both vector and raster graphics, a scripting language and audio & video streaming. A version of the technology, Flash Lite, has been adapted for mobile phones, and over 50 Symbian OS-based models now support it.
Forum Nokia has a section called "CreativePros" which is dedicated to Flash, and there's also a dedicated developer discussion board. The Adobe site has a Flash Lite page - the Nokia handsets page includes a link to download the standalone version of the Flash Lite 2.1 player for Symbian devices. The Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition is now available for download - this is only for development work and currently is certified for testing on the Nokia N95. Bill Perry, who works for Adobe, has a site for Flash development resources for non-PC devices. The Boston Adobe Mobile and Devices User Group monitors and discusses ongoing development.
