Express Signed is moving into a restricted BETA phase to ramp up signing volumes to test the operational systems. We are inviting a limited number of interested developers to join the BETA program.

-- Express Signed reduces the signing cost to US$20 per signing event.
-- Express Signed process will return your applications immediately.
-- After signing, a random selection of applications are audited/tested by an independent test house (note: this has no additional cost to the developer).
-- Applications signed using Express Signed will NOT have forward/backward compatibility issues (i.e. they signed against the Symbian B root)
Note: During the BETA phase, we will OVER sample the number of applications to be audited. This is not intended to impact developers, but rather to flesh out issues in test houses and the test criteria with real world applications.

If you would like to be involved in the BETA phase, the requirements are

-- Must have TC Trustcenter Publisher ID
-- Must have been using Symbian Signed to sign for more than 6 months
-- Must have signed more than 5 applications

If you are eligible and interested please email: ssv3@symbian.com  Subject: "Express_Signed_BETA"

More information on the planned changes to Symbian Signed is available at http://developer.symbian.com/main/learning/press/books/pdf/large_symbian_signed.pdf

Hi Bruce,

I think you meant that they will NOT have forward/backward compatibility issues -- can you just confirm?

Thanks,
Antony

Bruce,

can you tell me when Express signing will be available for everyone? After reading the announcement on www.symbiansigned.com I thought it is available already, but then I discovered that the Submissions > Express Signed link is not available.

Kind regards, Mario
